Made no effort to prepare

He didn't do any research, communicate with me, or submit evidence to the court. I was made a fool of in court, and he couldn't answer the Judges questions because he didn't look at ANY of the evidence submitted. He said I gave him too much paperwork, and "no judge is going to look at all that." Turn...s out he was wrong, and he couldn't answer anything. He literally did no work. He didn't care at all. And because of that I lost custody to a violent, lying, unemployed, alcoholic. He had 6 weeks to prepare, the attorney for the defense only had 2 weeks, and he ate us for breakfast....the judge hates me now. I have to hire another attorney, and hope I can repair the damage, IF the judge will even hear it because she thinks I'm a liar.

lacks experience

I was assigned shaun whitehead as an attorney to help in a divorce. After a year, I switched attorneys do to lack of progress and in his utter inexperience. For example, when sending letters via mail to effectuate service, it was always done regular mail. However, state law requires the mail be certi...fied or registered. The court almost dismissed the case twice. Trying to get into contact with him was always difficult. When I did speak to him, he dodged or deflected any question that required a legal perspective. I literally have to start from scratch with a new attorney. Access legal care is not a law firm!!! They will take your money and file the bare minimum required paperwork. I spent close to 6000 dollars and had to switch attorneys. Also, I was charged 1800 dollars for a process server and later got a final invoice from the process server for 1000 dollars. Basically, they pocketed 800 dollars and when I asked about it, I was given vague answers and he dodged the topic. After getting a new attorney, I realized my instincts were true and the lack of progress was not the courts fault but shaun whiteheads fault. It was bad enough that it feels intentional.

Mr. Carpenter, I am sorry you feel that you were somehow mistreated or otherwise not properly served. Your case involved complex and difficult issues in that it involved one party in the United States and the other party evading service in a foreign country. We advised you this would be complex. We filed over 7 different motions to deem service completed, for free -without additional charge to you. You were not charged $6,000 we charged you $2,395. ACL bills $99 a week of which you were never charged saving you over $5,200. If we had charged you for each motion which we could have at a price of $795 you could have easily been out of $15,000. Once again you paid a total of $2,395 for our legal services and roughly $1,500 to a foreign process server. Your numbers for alleged cost are an absolute exaggeration. We gave you options for a process server overseas and you willing went with one of the companies we suggested- they did charge your foreign process service even though service was not completed they are paid for the attempt. In my almost seven years of experience no one has ever accused me of what you are Mr. Carpenter and that is disheartening. Every effort was made to effectuate service of process including, but not limited to, multiple efforts in personal service (which accounts for the large service fee charged by foreign agencies to attempt service), registered mail (which according to records is still in the process of being delivered, certified mail, motions and requests to the court for various service of process resolutions. Given the multitudinous efforts to effectuate service and move forward with your case, (Many times stifled by the intervention of the court, I do not feel that our efforts, many at your request and approval, are worthy of the negative defamatory comments made). Our goal is to provide all of our clients the best service possible at all times. I, again, am sorry that you feel you were not properly served. That is not the way we practice in this office. Just for your knowledge our office documents every call and we have had over 50 plus contacts with you so to say we avoid answering your questions is not accurate at all- (this does not include the numerous text and emails with our office some of which you were extremely rude to my staff however we continued to pursue your matter. We wish you the best in the upcoming New Year.
