Robert J. Penrod graduated from De La Salle Collegiate High School in Warren, Michigan in 2010. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2014 from Grand Valley State University.
In 2017, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Penrod was a recipient of the Virginia Leo Sirotnak Scholarship and received Book Awards for the highest grade in Local Government Law and Entertainment Law. He was also a Student Clinician in the Criminal Clinic at Detroit Mercy.
Mr. Penrod he joined Kirk, Huth, Lange & Badalamenti, PLC as a clerk in 2015. He was offered the position of Associate Attorney upon graduation from law school. He specializes in civil and commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, personal and business tort claims, personal injury cases, probate litigation, municipal law and litigation, products liability and real property matters. He also routinely assists business clients with organization and formation, contract drafting, business plans, partnerships, employment agreements, and pre-suit contract enforcement.
Mr. Penrod is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Macomb County Bar Association, the Italian American Bar Association of Michigan, and has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In his spare time, he is an avid golfer, softball and hockey player, and Detroit sports fan
