I am a highly astute and team-oriented professional having a diverse technical foundation in the area of materials engineering along with a strong legal foundation in intellectual property law. I am interested in applying this unique combination of skills to a career as a patent attorney.

My engineering background enhances understanding of the technology underlying a client’s invention.  This is an advantage in determining the patentable aspects in each situation. In addition, my working knowledge of many different engineering disciplines including mechanical, chemical, polymer science, metallurgy, ceramics, nanotechnology, thin film coatings, nano biomedical applications and biomaterials offers a frame of reference conducive to servicing a broad range of clients. Additionally I have experience in patent prosecution, drafting license agreements and corporate patent portfolio management.  

Working at Landon IP (a global leader in patent searching) has provided me with the opportunity to interact with clients and utilize my technical and legal knowledge to provide a wide array of patent services. Additionally, while working at Landon IP, I have been able to hone my claim writing and interpretation skills. Prior to working for Landon IP, I interned at T.L. Garrett PLC (an intellectual property law firm) where I successfully applied my knowledge and understanding of mechanical devices to accurately identify and describe the novel aspects of a client’s invention over prior art. I then drafted and delivered a response to the office action, resulting in a notice of allowance for the client.
