Biography
Attorney Don McGuigan offers his clients the strength and compassion that come with knowledge and experience. Don believes that the practice of law is a helping profession. He supplements his practice with community involvement projects such as serving as a volunteer youth mentor for the Oakland Youth Assistance and Ferndale Youth Assistance programs, and also provides pro bono legal services to Common Ground Sanctuary.
Helping the Community
Over time, Don’s passion for helping real people with real problems lead him away from insurance defense law and into the full time practice of family law. Don believes that no other practice area provides the same opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of clients and their children. Don also commits his time and energy to community based projects. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Madeline Clark Foundation, a non-profit corporation established to provide transitional housing to veterans recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress and drug and alcohol addiction. He provided pro-bono legal assistance to Common Ground Sanctuary and Lakeshore Legal Aid. In 2010, Don was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Common Ground Legal Services for his outstanding contribution to that organization.
