Biography
Manmeet (Manny) Chahal's primary practice lies in corporate law. Manny has extensive experience in the areas of corporate finance, commercial real estate, and banking transactions. Manny has experience with representing clients in multi-billion-dollar bank finance and commercial real estate transactions, working primarily in leasing, acquisitions, and sales of commercial property. Manny also has experience with numerous cross-border (Canada and US) bank financing transactions in which he has successfully represented corporate clients in securing funding over two hundred million dollars.
On occasion, Manny handles very selective catastrophic personal injury cases. In November 2022, Manny obtained a unanimous jury trial verdict in Wayne County Circuit Court for over $2.3 million dollars plus an award for attorney fees and costs in a case for no-fault personal injury protection benefits on behalf of a client who was catastrophically injured in a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident. In January 2019, Manny also successfully recovered $1.1 million dollars in a motor vehicle accident case on behalf of a client who was catastrophically injured in a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
During law school, Manny procured a highly selective joint internship with the Abood Law Firm and Haddad Law Firm in Birmingham, Michigan. During this time, Manny gained extensive experience in handling civil disputes, criminal defense, family law, and personal injury cases.
Following graduation from undergraduate school at the University of Western Ontario and prior to becoming an attorney, Manny worked for the Royal Bank of Canada in Downtown, Toronto. Manny has also interned with the Legislative Assembly of Ontario where he worked alongside a Member of Provincial Parliament.
Manny is fluent in reading and writing Hindi and Punjabi.
