Theodore R. Opperwall

With over 35 years' experience in the field, Mr. Opperwall specializes in representing management in all facets of traditional labor law, including union organizing, labor arbitrations, collective bargaining, contract administration, and proceedings before the NLRB. His clients range from start-up businesses to Fortune 500 companies; a number are represented on a nationwide basis. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Mr. Opperwall handles all of the appeals that arise from his NLRB, ERISA, and labor litigation practice, and is admitted to the bars of the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the District of Columbia Circuit and the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Opperwall represents employers, plan sponsors, and the plans themselves in connection with ERISA plan benefit and fiduciary issues that arise in the traditional labor context, such as plan modification and retiree health care issues, as well as defending denied benefit claims.
