Step father, a disabled Marine, wanted to adopt the special needs child he had been raising since the child's birth. I had to convince a court that the bio-father had abandoned the child, and although ... the courts generally do not favor terminating the rights of a putative father of a special needs child, and my client's commitment to the child made him worthy of such a decision.
