People v. J.S.
Oct 16, 2018OUTCOME: Not Guilty; Acquittal
A local school teacher was charged with the offense of battery of a child, alleging that she struck a three-year-old student with a pointer stick. The teacher always maintained her innocence, and only ... after a two day jury trial she was acquitted of all charges. The State presented testimony by way f a witness that was inconsistent with prior statements provided to law enforcement officers, and J.S testified credibly as to what really occurred that day. The jury only had to deliberate for less than an hour to find J.S. not guilty.
