Alexander Reed Schmitt

Alex R. Schmitt is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Transactional Practice Group, where he assists with general matters in corporate litigation, commercial law, and estate planning and probate administration.

Alex is a graduate of Purdue University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and was selected by the 2011 graduating student body of IU Law - Indy to act as Class Student Speaker during the 2011 Commencement ceremony.

While achieving his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, Alex interned for the Indiana House Republican Caucus Communications Department. He then obtained his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law – Indianapolis where he was awarded the Clara Lee Kittle Legal Scholarship. As a law student, Alex clerked for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General’s Professional Licensing Division; he also interned with the litigation division of the barrister firm of Selborne Chambers in London.

Alex is active in a number of professional, civic and charitable organizations; he currently serves on the Vanderburgh Humane Society Board of Directors.
