BBR associate attorney Viviano Aguilar and Partner Scott Belden successfully obtained a defense verdict in the Kern County Superior Court in a dispute arising out of the sale of an insurance “book of b ... usiness” to another agent. The seller claimed entitlement to commissions received after the sale even though he actively sought to move the book over to his new agency. After a bench trial, the Court found that the agreement could not be enforced against the buyer, thereby entitling the buyer to keep the commissions demanded by the seller.
