Dec 23, 2019OUTCOME: We took the case to trial and prevailed. The Judge found that the accident was "compensable," awarded payment of her past medical treatment (including emergency surgery), and awarded lost wages to be paid to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Ms. Tola was injured at work when she was walking to help a customer at the deli counter in the Winn Dixie where she worked, tripped and fell, landed on her side, breaking her hip instantly. She went t ... o the hospital and had emergency surgery with hardware inserted to stabilize the hip fracture. Her Employer denied the case, contending it was her own fault for simply "tripping over her own feet." Ms. Tola was left with massive medical bills, need for further treatment, a lack of ability to work, and a lack of income. NOTE: Because we prevailed at her trial, Ms. Tola is entitled to a lifetime of medical care for her injuries.
