Marriage-Based Green Card - APPROVED!
Sep 11, 2018OUTCOME: Approved
A young U.S. citizen woman contacted me desperately trying to know how she could help her Irish fiance obtain legal status in the U.S. She lived in Southern California and he lived in Ireland at the ti ... me. She tried filing a fiance visa on her own, but received a hefty Request for Evidence (RFE) from USCIS and she did not know what to do. I met with her and took the time to understand her and her fiance's goals. I learned that they wanted to get married in the U.S., but he would return to Ireland and she would remain in the U.S. during the process. We developed a strategy together and she was eventually able to marry her husband in the U.S. I responded to the RFE with sufficient evidence to get his Immigrant Visa approved. I guided the couple through the National Visa Center (NVC) requirements to schedule his U.S. Consulate interview in Ireland. We recently completed Consular Processing and her husband's marriage-based green card was approved. They are now happily married and enjoying their lives as newlyweds in the U.S.
