Charge: Criminal Simulation under $1,000 Police Narrative: Detectives with the MNPD Fraud Unit witnessed the defendant selling tickets to the Stanley Cup Finals to individuals outside the Hilton Hot ... el in Nashville. Detectives witnessed the defendant conduct a hand to hand and immediately detained him. The victim provided detectives with the ticket he bought. Detectives were able to prove the ticket was fraudulent. A search incident to arrest of the defendant yielded numerous tickets hidden inside a sock.

Charge: Felon in Possession of a Weapon Police Narrative: The defendant was a rear seat passenger (sitting directly behind the driver), in a vehicle stopped for speeding on Brick Church Pike. The ve ... hicle was paced at 50mph in a posted 40mph speed zone. A probable cause search of the vehicle, yielded a Smith & Wesson SD 40 VE . 40 caliber handgun, located in between the driver and passenger seat. All occupants in the vehicle were sitting in reach of the handgun. All occupants in the vehicle were read Miranda, which they stated they understood. All occupants, including the defendant denied knowledge of the handgun. The defendant is a convicted felon.

OUTCOME: Dismissed by Judge after Preliminary Hearing

Charge: Felon in Possession of a Weapon Police Narrative: Detectives observed the defendant in the passenger front seat of a vehicle that dropped off another individual in the middle of the road nea ... r 10th Ave N and Jefferson St. When I asked dispatch to run the tag on the vehicle it came back as a 1993 Ford out of Shelbyville, TN. When the vehicle was pulled over it was discovered that the driver was driving with a revoked DL. Detective Rogan of Central CSU asked the driver for consent to search the vehicle which he granted. I then asked the defendant to step out of the vehicle where a pat down for weapons occurred to both subjects. Both subjects were then asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, to which they replied no. I then began to search the passenger side floorboard of the vehicle directly underneath where the defendant had been sitting. I immediately noticed a magazine loaded with small caliber pistol ammunition underneath the seat, and as I began to extract myself from the vehicle to detain the defendants I saw in the driver’s side rear floorboard a small black pistol in plain view. Both of the defendants were then detained and I retrieved the pistol which had a round in the chamber. The pistol was a 32 caliber KELTEC, serial number cv811, and was checked through the records division and had no stolen record at the time that the stop was made. During the course of the investigation it was also discovered that the both defendants were convicted felons. The pistol was in the immediate lunge area of both defendants from where they had been sitting in the vehicle.

Charges: Theft over $1,000, Forgery by uttering, Forgery My client and the alleged victim drove to the store. While the alleged victim was inside a store, my client was accused of driving off in the ... car she had been a passenger in without the owner’s consent. Client was later arrested driving the vehicle and in possession of the alleged victims jewelry. Additionally, it was alleged that while the client had been staying with the alleged victim she stole a check, forged the signature, and passed the check as authentic. The judge was unable to find the case reached the extremely low standard of “Probable Cause” (standard at a Preliminary Hearing) and ruled in favor of immediate dismissal.
