Leah James Loy concentrates her practice in the areas of divorce, paternity, guardianship, estate planning and other domestic law matters. She is a 2007 graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Gender Studies, and received her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2010. She is admitted to practice law in Indiana before the Indiana Supreme Court and United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Leah’s divorce practice is dedicated to providing clients with representation that focuses on defining their goals and achieving those same goals. She uses alternative dispute resolution in resolving contested matters so that clients have a voice in the final outcome of their case. If settlement is not an option, she is prepared to zealously litigate your case.
She provides paternity representation to both men and women. She understands that both mothers and fathers have a right to be actively involved in their children’s everyday lives. She helps to make sure that children have limited exposure to parental conflict by creating customized parenting plans. She will give you advice on all aspects of your paternity case, from DNA testing to custody, parenting time, and child support.
Her guardianship representation is focused on obtaining guardianship for minors whose parents that may not be able to care for them due to incarceration, drug addiction, or psychological problems. She also can assist in obtaining guardianships for adults, young and old, who may be unable to take care of their affairs due to health problems or mental conditions.
Her estate planning practice is dedicated to helping individuals and couples plan for the distribution of their estate, and to establishing living wills and healthcare directives and powers of attorney.
