Uninsured Motorist Claim v. Farmer's Insurance
N/AOUTCOME: $100,000.00 jury verdict for Plaintiff
On May 23, 2016, The Mims Firm, PC was successful in obtaining a jury verdict for $100,000.00 against Farmers Insurance Company on behalf of our client. The verdict was well in excess of the amount tha ... t Farmers had attempted to pay in settlement of our client’s claim for uninsured motorist benefits under the client’s policy with Farmers. Our client had been injured in an accident in which a drunk driver struck his vehicle, and for almost two years, Farmers refused to pay an amount which was reasonable in light of the client’s injuries and the fact that the client was hit by a drunk driver. The case was tried in the Circuit Court of Mobile County. We are grateful for the efforts of the jury in considering the case and forcing Farmers to pay in accordance with the policy that they sold our client. It has become increasingly difficult to force insurance companies to pay legitimate claims. As a result, it is necessary for your attorney to actually take cases to court and let a jury decide the case rather than simply accepting the amount that is offered by an insurance company in every case. We are happy for our client and satisfied with the outcome in this case. We stand ready to help anyone else that has not been treated fairly by their insurance company.
