Karen Yvonna Renfro

Karen claimed that she could help me with a child support/custody case. She did help me, as far as going to court; however, she never filed any of the paperwork after the fact. When I questioned and confronted her on not completing the job, especially since I paid her in full, up-front, before her ...doing any work, she quit the case. When I decided to finish the case pro se', I was told by the Clerk that I couldn't do anything, because she is still our attorney of record. When I asked her to file a motion to withdraw appearance, she refused to do it. I am going to file a complaint with the Floyd County Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association. This is just not right...I work for attorneys and even though we don't specialize in family law, if I would have known that she was not going to complete the job (honestly I should have searched her reviews, there are plenty of bad reviews online from the past several years - all saying the same thing, that she is nonresponsive and won't complete the job), I would have asked one of the attorneys that I work for to do it for me - at least I would have known that the paperwork would be filed and the case would be completed. Never have I met an attorney, and I have worked for several, that were this bad at finishing the job that they were paid to do. I highly recommend not to hire Karen. She may be more affordable in her services, but remember if you are paying close to nothing that is the quality of work that you will receive. Lesson learned for me.
