Plaintiff, a building contractor, performed work as contracted by homebuyer. At the completion of the work, Plaintiff was notified that sale of the home had been canceled and that payment would not be ... made. We filed suit and the Defendant countersued under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act and brought suit against the current owner as a third-party Defendant. Despite several pre-trials and a lengthy mediation, Defendants refused to pay the contractor for his their work. The case went to nearly 1 year later. At the close of trial, Plaintiff was awarded a full judgment and all counterclaims against them were denied.
