Plaintiff left motel room t ... o go to lobby to get another pen while working in motel room. While walking down steps of motel, Plaintiff slipped on stairs and fell shattering his elbow. Underwent 3 surgeries on elbow. Defendant Motel denied liability or knowing about slippery concrete around its motel. Dr. Paul Grutter orthopaedic surgeon testified about surgery of elbow on Plaintiff. One week before trial, Defendant offered $100,000 to settle. Demand was $900,000.
