Auto v. Bicycle; Wrongful Death. On February 27, 2026, a Ventura County jury put real, meaningful value on the loss of our client's son, who was negligently struck and killed by a vehicle while riding ...his bicycle.
VENTURA, CA - Yesterday, a jury in Ventura returned a verdict of $3,592,291 in a disputed liability auto collision, mTBI case.
After costs and interest, the total recovery will be well over $5,000,...000.
On May 13, 2019 - Defendant ran the red light and hit our client, who was making a left turn. The defense said the light was green. Our client was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and treated for an ankle sprain/strain. There was no treatment or indication of a head injury. A few weeks later, she was diagnosed with a concussion. Brain MRI was normal.
After spending time with our client's friends and families, one thing became abundantly clear - the person who left home that morning was different from the person who came home after the crash. In discovering our client's human story, we brought the damages to life in the courtroom and a jury of her peers ultimately honored the value of what was negligently taken in the way of health.
We were brought into the case by M.R. Parker Law. Henry Peacor was first chair and Grayson Yoder second chair. Special thanks to Steve Halteman for his work as a trial consultant.
