David Neal Baumgartner

David N. Baumgartner was born and raised in Berne, Indiana, and completed his education at South Adams High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Economics from Bluffton University before obtaining his Juris Doctor Degree from Indiana University - Indianapolis. He was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 1985 and is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He is an active member of various legal associations, including the Adams County Bar Association, the Probate, Trust and Real Property Section, and Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, as well as the American Agricultural Law Association. After his education, David and his wife made the decision to return to Berne, where they believed it was an ideal environment to raise their family. He currently serves as Berne City Attorney as well as Geneva Town Attorney, actively participating in the growth and progress of these communities. David is involved in several community organizations, including the Berne Rotary Club, Berne Community Development Corporation, Bluffton University Board of Trustees, and as Board Chair of First Bank of Berne. With over 30 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, business organization and succession planning, and real estate law, David is dedicated to guiding clients through important life transitions and providing direct client interaction on a daily basis.
