Janee’ Mitchell has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Springfield where she received the Lee Ensel Pre-Law Scholarship, wrote for the UIS Journal, was entered on the Dean’s List, joined the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and volunteered through Christ in Action for Louisiana Relief Efforts after Hurricane Katrina.
Janee’ received her Juris Doctorate from the Valparaiso University School of Law where she was awarded the Heritage Law Scholarship and the Illinois Judicial Council Scholarship, and served the community as Treasurer in the Equal Justice Alliance, and Student Attorney in the Valparaiso Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. During her final year of law school, Janee’ set for the Indiana State Bar and was successfully admitted to the legal practice in June of 2010.
Throughout her academic career Janee’ has volunteered through community outreach and missions, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Christian Legal Society. She has also taken the Pro Bono Pledge and rendered volunteer legal services through the Indiana Pro Bono Commission.
During her growing legal career Janee’ has served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge Lang in LaPorte Superior Court No. 1, served the community in the areas of Family, Civil and Criminal Law, and served as Judge Pro Tempore for the Honorable Judge Bowers in Elkhart Superior Court No. 2. Janee’ has also served Social Security Disability Claimants for a number of years through the Davis Disability Group. Janee’ remains devoted to serving the community at large and assisting those in need through the provision of quality legal services in various practice areas including: family law, bankruptcy, criminal law, personal injury, and many others through her practice at Mitchell Legal Services LLC.
