After not getting a response from the IRS as to why I was double charged in 2013 I took my items here, explained the problem (even had to find the error in past returns!) and paid the extra to resolve this issue that the payment was applied to the WRONG year and I had pay (a second time) for the yea...r this amount was filed for. ALL that he did was do the taxes...nothing more. No amended return to get the extra thousands back. All I got from this business in response as to why he had not filed an amended return because Turbo Tax put the payment on the WRONG line was this response: " I'm sorry that you're disappointed. I understand that you paid the $2,719 for 2013 - I completely agree with that - I think the IRS also completely agrees with that. The problem is that same number ($2,719) showed upon on your 2014 tax return as a payment for 2014. That's the whole problem. At this point, I'm not understanding what you want me to do - or what you're planning to do yourself? Gary L. Griner " I eventually, resolved this by going down to the IRS myself with everything in hand that I had provided this business with. SETTLED, finally but I am out a overpriced fee for NOTHING ! I would have plugged the numbers into any Free Tax USA and merely filed a return! I had paid to RESOLVE the issue I had explained (clearly and concisely) to him.
