Plaintiff was a pedestrian who was hit while walking in the crosswalk with the walk signal illuminated. Defendant claimed Plaintiff was 100% at fault for not getting out of the way. Plaintiff suffered ... two shattered wrists, a broken pelvis, and broken knee and required multiple surgeries and over 200 doctor visits. The case was tried in Santa Monica and a unanimous jury returned a verdict of $1.5M future medical damages, $4.75M in past general damages (pain and suffering), and $4.75M in future general damages (pain and suffering).
