Picked up client in Davidson county on three theft charges. Was informed by client that she wanted to do mental health court. However, this requires every charge to be on board and she was in 3 diffe ... rent court rooms and two counties. Drove to Gallatin to make sure everyone was on the same page, came back and she is going to mental health court on August 3rd.
OUTCOME: 40 days to serve, terminated
Appointed to client on Domestic Assault charge and probation violation that was triggered. Domestic charge was retired. Original offer on PV was sentence into effect. Client did not serve the 10 day ... s that was required of him as part of his probation. Father died week of court, got an agreement for client to serve 40 days day for day and to report after father's funeral. Probation terminated after 40 days. Would have been different story if he had done his 10 days like I instructed after I picked up the case and before we went to court.
OUTCOME: 2 years probation, one count dismissed

Appointed to client charged with Domestic Assault. Come to learn that story is much different from what really happened (as usual). Cross warrant situation, meaning that if everyone pleads the 5th, i ... t all goes away. However this was over the 4th of July weekend. DA contacted me and asked if he would be willing to testify against her, as she has a terrible record and stabbed him in the arm (yet he still went to jail). Talk to client and he wants to make the deal, DA lets him out on ROR bond and we went to court the next week and the charges against him were dismissed.

An aggravated robbery occurred in Nashville with a description of the suspect matching my client (young, African American, dark clothing). My client was walking home from his cousin's house when a p ... olice officer pulled him over. The officer asked him various questions and asked him if he would do a show-up in the street. The two victims identified my client as the person who robbed them. I come to find out that this young man was actually at a Walmart several miles away near the time of the robbery. I was able to obtain the video from the Walmart security cameras. I showed this to the District Attorney on the day of court, when there were 5 officers there and the victims adamant that my client was the guy. But you can't be in two places at once - case dismissed.
