A long time Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) was placed into removal/deportation proceedings in 2015 because of a crime she plead guilty to in 2007. I filed a motion with the criminal court to ha ... ve the conviction vacated because her public defender and the Judge failed to inform her that she would be deported if she plead guilty. The criminal court granted our motion and our client’s criminal charges were subsequently DISMISSED. As a result, her deportation case has been terminated and she is now in the process of finalizing her U.S. Citizenship.
