Stacy Jean Vasilak

Stacy Vasilak concentrates her practice in general litigation and arbitration, with an emphasis in auto and premises liability. She also has experience in civil rights litigation and estate planning, and she has served as chairperson on medical review panels. She has extensive experience in first party claims, declaratory judgment actions, contract interpretation and litigating indemnification agreements, automobile liability, premises liability, products liability, construction claims, bad faith claims, contract claims, damage to underground facilities, and insurance coverage. Ms. Vasilak also handles some personal injury cases. She is distinguished as AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Ms. Vasilak has actively practiced in several counties throughout Indiana as well as in the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She also has experience in class actions and in drafting appellate briefs for the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Vasilak has extensive experience in motion practice, discovery practice, and mediations. She has argued numerous complex motions before the Court. She has tried multiple matters to verdict as both first chair and second chair and directly to the bench. Ms. Vasilak has also served as a temporary judge in Lake County, Indiana.

Outside of the office, Ms. Vasilak has volunteered with the Indiana Mock Trial Competition as a judge and helping run the regaional competition in Hammond. She also served as a member of the Committee for National Mock Trial Competition held in Indianapolis in 2013. Ms. Vasilak also spends her time volunteering in her community. She has served on various committees and boards. She is active in her children’s schools and with the PTC. She coaches basketball. And formerly served in various rolls in the Griffith Soccer Club.  In her free time, she enjoys watching her children play sports and spending time with her family.
