You would have to determine whether the local store is a franchise or company owned. Further, if a franchise, what control the corporate retained.

You are the driver so you have liability exposure. Contact your former employer, who will probably provide you with an attorney.

If you don! Pay it, they can sue you and have additional expense. Even if you do pay it, criminal prosecution can still be pursued.
