Kaitlin Louise Herrera

Kaitlin Herrera is an Associate Attorney at Trapp Law, LLC. Kaitlin began working at Trapp Law, LLC as a Law Clerk in 2022. Kaitlin continued working at Trapp Law, LLC through her final year of law school and continued her position as a Law Clerk until becoming a licensed attorney in the Spring of 2024.
Kaitlin is a native of Central Indiana, having graduated from Martinsville High School before attending Indiana University-Bloomington. Kaitlin graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with dual degrees in Germanic Studies and English, with a concentration in Public and Professional Writing. Kaitlin began her law school career at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in the fall of 2020—being a part of the first generation of law school students to begin their legal studies online.
During her law school career, Kaitlin interned at the District 10 Pro Bono Project in Bloomington, volunteered for the Protective Order Project, and volunteered with the Outreach for Legal Literacy Program, teaching local fifth grade students about civic duties and responsibilities. During her second and third years of law school, Kaitlin served as President of the Family Law Society at IU Maurer, and she hosted a panel discussion with practicing family law attorneys.
Kaitlin primarily focuses her practice in family law, representing clients in adoptions, child support cases, custody cases, divorces, and guardianships. Kaitlin believes in a collaborative approach to resolving contested issues whenever possible but will never hesitate to zealously advocate for her clients during litigation. Kaitlin rounds out her practice with estate planning, probate administration/litigation, and some criminal defense.
Kaitlin enjoys spending her free time visiting local wineries, spending time with friends and family, and watching binge-worthy television with her husband and Dachshund.
