Citizen vs the State of Indiana

I was run down on my bike by a State vehicle. It should have been a slam dunk situation. The State had a red light and I had the crossing signal. But the State was determined to make the accident my fault! John was recommended to me by a neighbor who thought highly of him. He quickly got on top ...of my case and several things impressed me: (i) We went out to the accident site and very carefully reviewed what had happened. (ii) John got statements from all the witnesses (they saw the plain truth!) (iii) When the State did their preliminary fact finding, wanting to know every place I had every lived and every band aide that had every been applied to my body, John cut them off. (iv) When the State took my deposition, John was very thorough in preparing me for what to expect and how to effectively present myself. (v) When medical bills got screwed up and unpaid, John straightened things out. (vi) Eventually the case went to arbitration. Again John prepared me very thoroughly for what to expect and had done his own homework to judge what we should expect from the State. (vii) In summary John kept me well informed at all stages of the process and prepared me for the parts I had to play. AND in the end, of course, it was determined that it is not, after all, okay for State Vehicles to run over bicyclists. But without John to make that case, I would have been left high and dry.

Review of Pedestrian Injury Case

My review of John Young is very positive, and I highly recommend hiring him. As for my case, I was struck by a vehicle in downtown Indianapolis while crossing the street at Ohio and Pennsylvania in May, 2014. I hit my head on the street pretty hard after being hit and knocked down. As a result of tha...t, I was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and treated for a head wound and minor injuries. At first, I did not want to hire an attorney and just handle it myself. But when the medical bills came in about two months after the incident, I realized that assistance would be needed on my behalf. After meeting with three other potential attorneys, I met with John and immediately felt comfortable with him as he explained his experience and background. I ended up hiring him at the end of that meeting, and have not regretted that decision. From there, the entire settlement process took around 5 months to be completed. John always made sure to keep me updated during that process and alert me to what he needed from me in terms of any documentation. When it was all said and done, John was able to get a very generous settlement on my behalf. That settlement paid all of my medical bills and left some extra money for me as well. Based on that experience, I very much recommend hiring John as an attorney as he does a great job!
