Shawn Rountree

I hired Shawn and Alisha almost 5 years ago. I have a very ugly child custody/disestablishment of paternity case that believe it or not is STILL pending to this day. I even went to jail on false allegations, and all Alisha said was: "I understand your frustration". I have had over 15 court app...earances in the last 4 years on which Shawn or Alisha would not show up, respond to my calls, emails or requests for meetings. On the day of the FINAL magistrate hearing, they send me an unknown "attorney" to assist on their behalf because they had relocated to Indiana and he was completely CLUELESS on the facts of the case!!!! That attorney was Tyrone Watson. Mr. Watson advised me that Shawn HAD to keep in contact with me. That he would contact Shawn and let him know about our issues. I never heard or seen him ever again. I called and emailed without response for several months until last month, I received an unexpected email from Shawn saying that our account was delinquent!! I was fortunate enough to have ALL my copies of ALL payments submitted (which I never received receipts for) and scanned and emailed back to him and he miraculously responded saying we STILL owed him. I had to make an Excel breakdown sheet to show him we had paid him in FULL and after that, I never heard from him again. It makes me wonder if that was the reason why he wasn't proceeding with my case and/or responding to my emails and calls. The clerk of courts said our case was still pending because my attorney, Shawn Rountree, never submitted some needed paperwork. My case is STILL PENDING, my daughter is suffering, I have paid in full, I have an upcoming court appearance on January and Shawn does not respond to my inquiries. What am i going to do???? Someone please HELP ME!

The tandem group of Shawn and Alisha could not be worse. They will promise you the world when you hire them but once paid they will stop responding or take any interest in your case at all. They will file things on your behalf without your knowledge, they generally don't know what they are doing an...d care very little abut your wellbeing as a client. Eventually once fully paid they simply disappeared altogether abandoning my open case and forcing me to hire another attorney and pay all over again. They did not even have the professional courtesy to communicate with my new attorney or return her calls. They are self serving in every sense of the word and only care about getting paid. Don't make the same mistake I did.
