Anne Medlin Lowe

Anne Medlin Lowe is a partner at Fugate Gangstad Lowe, where she leads the firm's appellate and business litigation practices. She is a dedicated advocate for small business owners and individuals.

Anne’s practice is defined by her ability to distill dense records into crisp, compelling legal arguments. Her appellate footprint covers a diverse range of civil and domestic issues, with a recent string of successful reversals in the Indiana Court of Appeals involving protective orders, probate interpretation, and family law matters.

Prior to entering private practice, Anne served for two years as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul D. Mathias of the Indiana Court of Appeals. Today, she leverages that invaluable insider’s perspective to craft her briefs and trial strategies.

• Successfully appealed the issuance of a protective order in H.W. v. M.R., 266 N.E.3d 737 (Ind. Ct. App. 2025)
• Achieved reversal in H.R. v. M.R., 262 N.E.3d 915 (Ind. Ct. App. 2025), overturning an order lacking sufficient statutory evidence
• Obtained a reversal in K.K. v. B.B., 258 N.E.3d 274 (Ind. Ct. App. 2025) (mem. dec.)
• Persuaded the Court of Appeals to reverse a trial court’s interpretation of a will in Gerth v. Est. of Bloemer, 240 N.E.3d 702 (Ind. Ct. App. 2024). The Court agreed with Anne’s argument regarding the proper classification of agricultural assets and uncashed checks, resulting in a favorable redistribution of the estate under the laws of intestate succession
• Secured a partial reversal in Jones v. State (22A-CR-1059), where the Court of Appeals remanded the case for resentencing due to an erroneous habitual offender enhancement
• Successfully defended a trial court’s adoption order against an appeal in C.C. v. A.F. (25A-AD-954) (mem. decision)
• In Dae San Printing Co. v. TFI, Inc. (S.D. Ind.), a complex multimillion-dollar commercial dispute involving an international client, secured a confidential settlement that successfully resolved the matter to the client's full satisfaction
• Achieved a rare reversal by both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court regarding a dismissal order in Bellwether Props., LLC v. Duke Energy Ind., Inc., 87 N.E.3d 462 (Ind. 2017)
