OUTCOME: The Fourteenth Court of Appeals held: "The record reveals error in the trial court's judgment. We therefore order that the judgment be REVERSED, the indictment be DISMISSED and the appellant be ACQUITTED."

Appellant appealed his conviction for making a false report to a police officer or law enforcement agency, challenging the legal sufficiency of the evidence to support his conviction. The Fourteenth C ... ourt of Appeals held the evidence is legally insufficient to support appellant’s conviction because the State did not offer evidence that appellant made his report in bad faith and for reasons other than to obtain action on a valid grievance. The Fourteenth Court of Appeals reversed this conviction and rendered a judgment of acquittal.
