My client was charged with assault family violence in Harris County after a dropped 911 call led the police to the location where the call came from. The 911 operator could hear a woman screaming get t ... he fuck off me over and over again. When the police arrived to the location, they were told by a witness that a man was beating a woman, but they had driven off. The police left the scene and were flagged down by a driver who said there is a man beating a woman in the middle of the street a block down the road. The police sped up and pulled behind the car that was stopped in the middle of the road. The cops claimed they saw the car shaking and my male client leaning over the female driver punching her. They tased my client as saw that the woman was covered in blood. Through cross examination, I was able to get one of the cops to admit that he never saw my client's hand make contact with the woman, and I gave an alternative explanation of why the female was covered in blood.

My client was arrested on new years after the driver waiting behind him in the drive thru line at Whataburger called 911 to report the drover of the car had urinated on the building. When the police wa ... lked outside of the restaurant, they encountered my client in the passenger seat and he refused to identify himself at first. The officer became agitated and ripped my client out of the car, causing him to dislocate his shoulder. The officer then had my client sit in a painful awkward position for 30 minutes in the freezing cold, and claim that his difficulty in walking and talking after that point were the results of intoxication. I was able to convince the jury that his problems with walking and talking could have been a result of the temperate and pain from his shoulder. The jury found my client not guilty on the public intoxication charge and the state dismissed the failure to identify charge.

My client allowed the half-sister of one of his sons to move into his second house. The lady had 9 children. My client grew concerned that she was neglecting her kids. The complainant then accused m ... y client of beating her up. The Harris County District Attorney's Office charged my client with assault family violence. By the time the case was ready for the jury, the judge ruled that it was not a family violence case, and let the jury decide whether my client committed an assault. Apparently the jury felt right away that my client was not guilty, but they wanted to take a break from the court room, so waited a few minutes to deliver their verdict.

I exposed for the judge that the officer gave conflicting reasons for interacting with my client and showed that the officer illegally detained my client without having any probable cause.
