We represented thirteen women who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of their teacher and mentor, Jack T. Moyer, while they were middle and high school students enrolled at the American School In Japan ... (ASIJ). ASIJ, an elite Tokyo school which caters to children of international business executives, diplomats and missionaries, knew of Moyer's abuse of students for more than forty years, and yet continued to deny its role in concealing and abetting that abuse as late as March 17, 2014. In June of 2015, our clients reached a settlement with the school, which included a full and complicate public apology, reimbursement of all past and future counseling costs, and compensation for the victims' injuries, among other things.
