My client was arrested after the police executed a search warrant and found marijuana inside her residence. After deposing the officer who obtained the search warrant, and interviewing witnesses, I fi ... led a motion to suppress the evidence found in the search. A confidential informant had observed my client's boyfriend in possession of what the informant believed to be marijuana. I challenged the probable cause determination underlying the warrant arguing that the boyfriend's possession of marijuana was not sufficiently linked to my client's residence. The prosecutor ultimately agreed with my analysis and dismissed all charges.

My client was charged with sexual abuse of his minor granddaughter. I deposed the granddaughter and several family members and school officials. The granddaughter's story was not consistent and she h ... ad motivation to lie to avoid disciplinary restrictions imposed by her parents. I hired a child psychologist to explain to the jury the child's motivation to lie. We presented the case to the jury and the client was found not guilty.

OUTCOME: NOT GUILTY jury verdict.

My client was driving home from V.A. doctor appointment and was weaving due to fatigue and the influence of medication prescribed by doctor. The police arrested him and took a urine sample for further ... testing. The State lab reported trace amounts of methamphetamine resulting in a charge of driving under influence of drugs. We hired an expert in toxicology to challenge the procedures of the State lab, proving to jury that the lab violated their own operating procedures designed to avoid contamination of samples. The jury acquitted my client after we demonstrated that the Iowa DCI lab violated its own rules and likely contaminated the sample.
