After a traffic stop for speeding, my client was arrested for DUI and possession of CDS. While in custody at the police station, it was alleged that my client ditched a handgun by a finger print machin...e in the holding cell area. At trial, we attacked the precinct video footage and challenged the state's witness. The jury agreed that the state's case was riddled with reasonable doubt, and returned a verdict of not guilty.

Possession with Intent to Distribute and Handgun Charges
May 05, 2016
OUTCOME: Not guilty.
Client was charged with numerous drug and gun allegations arising from a traffic stop – the legally tinted windows of the vehicle the client was operating appeared too dark for the taste of two Baltimo...re City narcotics officers. The narcotics officers quickly abandoned the alleged purpose of their stop (issuing a citation for a minor traffic infraction), and began searching the vehicle my client was operating. Following this constitutionally questionable search of the vehicle, my client was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and various handgun violations. The ramifications of a guilty verdict for my client was a lengthy prison sentence. After more than a year-and-a-half of waiting for his day in court, my client was finally able to select a jury on May 2, 2016.
In an effort to prove its case, the State called seven witnesses. I, along with my law partner, Josh Ortega, systematically exposed the bias and credibility of the narcotics officers and State’s experts, as well as the limitations of the State’s case. After several hours of deliberation, the jury found my client not guilty of possession with intent to distribute and all four alleged handgun violations.
