John Randall Haas

John Haas has represented individual clients and large nationally recognized companies addressing legal issues ranging from contracts, real property, surety bonds, automobile, professional, medical and governmental liability. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of tort cases involving individuals, companies and governmental entities. He also litigates contract disputes ranging from accounting disagreements to multi-million dollar claims for compensatory and punitive damages.

As the Solicitor for the City of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mr. Haas is General Counsel to a Municipal Corporation with a $40 million budget and over 200 union and non-union employees. He also serves as the Prosecutor with county-wide jurisdiction managing two Assistant Prosecutors and support staff. He is Chief Legal Counsel for Portsmouth City Council, Portsmouth City Schools, Civil Service Commission, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and the Portsmouth Health Department. He also serves as Special Prosecutor on a regular basis in neighboring counties. He was re-elected to serve an additional four year term in 2019.
