Don't hire this miserable lawyer.

I called Ms. Barrington's office to schedule an appointment in my divorce case. It was scheduled on a Friday at 4:00PM. I arrived and was told that she was called to court and for me to leave copies of the divorce complaint and she would call me the following week. No one bothered to call me to a...dvise that she was "called to court on a Friday at the close of the business day/week" before coming to Chillicothe from Waverly. Nor did Ms. Barrington or her secretary even call me to reschedule the appointment. Obviously, I hired a responsible attorney. My ex-husband's lawyer (a retired male judge in Columbus) scheduled a deposition to depose me so in turn, my lawyer (a female judge) scheduled a deposition to depose my now ex-husband. During recess my ex's lawyer communicated with my lawyer that Ms. Barrington called him to disparage me and my integrity, however never meeting me. Ironically, he also intimated to my lawyer that the presiding judge will like her client (me), much better than his client (my ex). I do not recommend that anyone consider hiring Ms. Barrington. She is a very rude, crude and backstabbing person. She just needs to retire her miserable self.

Go elsewhere

Expects you to be prompt etc but she fails to call when an appointment is set up for you. Doesn’t check her email “because she has too many emails to review ” She missed needed info that was sent via emails. Representing me and another individual involved directly in my case . She stated to me that ...“She had a conflict of interest with my case , then at the end everything that I wanted she was turning into favor of my soon to be ex spouse. Run go elsewhere. Poor record keeping , dismissive behavior, I can keep going My full experience is a quarter of a star review if allowed. .

More than RUDE & I'm the Client

Called to ask a couple of questions to see if she was taking any new clients. Deborah answered the call and was incredibly rude from the moment I started talking. In the short 5 minutes of speaking with her she talked down to me, "huffed" a sigh and acted like she was too important to talk to me. No... one deserves to be treated like that when calling a business especially a lawyer that you would be paying. I voiced how she was behaving and her response was, "I am direct, very direct." Some of these people need to come back to reality and remember they are but only human too.

Just terrible

Hired Debbie as an attorney, I heard she was known as the "barracuda". This woman turned out to be the most hateful and rude person I have ever met (not exaggerating). You will prepare you own case and evidence, and if you do will not use it. Otherwise she is going to make deals with the judge and... lawyer because thats what she knows how to do. She isn't good at litigating unfortunately, she truly doesn't know Ohio Code that well, and to be perfectly honest I think she is phoning it in for money at her age. I end up saying she isn't a barracuda but a catfish-bottom feeder with her hand out for 500$.

Worse lawyer and extremely rude

Deborah is extremely rude not only to the defendant but to me, the client. I simply dismissed the case because how rude she was to me. I called her office I which Betsy her secretary usually answers but this time Deborah answered. I began to talk and she interrupted me staying "I'm in the middle of a... conference. The only reason I answered the phone was because it was ringing and ringing". Well, if she didn't want to talk to someone than maybe she shouldnt have answered the phone. She always talked down to me. She was never prepared and gave little to no advice. I hired her because I heard she was tough. As her client I didn't expect her to be that way with me.
