Our client was riding her bicycle on a public road. As she approached an intersection, in which she had the right of way, a car approached from her right side and stopped at the stop sign. Our client s ... lowed down to make eye contact with the driver and when she was satisfied that the driver knew she was there, she proceeded to cross the intersection. Without warning, the driver of the car accelerated out in front of the client's bicycle, causing her to crash into the car and sending her to the hospital with major hand, neck and back injuries. Our client lost time from work, endured multiple surgeries, and lived with pain for more than a year. We brought suit against the driver and the owner of the vehicle and ultimately settled with the insurance company.

Our client was a United States military veteran who had abdominal mesh implanted in 1998 to repair an abdominal hernia. In 2002, the mesh got infected and he was hospitalized. Instead of performing a ... complete resection of the entire infected mesh and surrounding tissue, the hospital only took out the infected portion of the mesh, leaving the rest behind to be "salvaged". The infection never cured because once mesh is infected, it all becomes infected and if it isn't removed it in its entirety, it will continue to become infected and cause problems. Our client endured numerous surgical attempts to stabilize the infection and remove infected pieces of mesh, but never healed because there was always infection present. the client's condition persisted for years, thus tolling the statute of limitations due to an ongoing course of conduct. The client passed away in 2008, but his estate brought claim against the hospital and ultimately settled the case.
