A client was stopped while traveling through Colorado after police set up an "ruse" drug checkpoint and then followed and pulled over for an alleged traffic violation. The police illegally extended the ... stop for a K-9 unit to respond and then searched the vehicle, finding enough controlled substances to support charges that carried a mandatory decade plus prison sentence. However, after filing numerous written motions and a 2-day hearing, the Court ruled the search was illegal and suppressed all evidence, forcing the DA to dismiss all charges.

A client facing a charge of domestic violence assault was fully exonerated by a jury when they returned a not guilty verdict after a one day trial. The prosecutor had refused to drop the charge, despit ... e the “victim” admitting that the client’s behavior was clearly in self-defense and that what was originally reported to police was not the full truth of what had occurred. The prosecutor moved forward with the case despite this admission and the client courageously chose to go to trial rather than accept any plea that would require an admission of guilt. The jury disagreed with the prosecutor, and after hearing the whole truth of what had occurred, found that the client had acted in self-defense and was not guilty of any charges.
