Alan has been with Pickrel, Schaeffer and Ebeling for over 40 years, working in the firm’s Real Estate and Business Department. Alan represents buyers and sellers, owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and appraisers.
In the area of real estate development, Alan is typically involved in all facets of a project, from land acquisition and initial zoning review, contract preparation, construction, leasing, financing, through end use or sale. He is very familiar with environmental, land use, engineering, construction regulatory and public and private finance issues. Alan has most recently been involved with several of the areas largest commercial/retail construction projects.
Alan is also chief legal advisor to the Cities of Huber Heights and Springboro. In this role, he provides legal advice and assistance to the City Council, City Manager, and all departments, divisions, offices, boards, and commissions. With vast experience in municipal law, Alan represents these cities in all civil legal proceedings.
In his spare time, Alan lectures on recent developments in real estate and zoning law and has conducted educational seminars for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Associated General Contractors (AGC), Miami Valley Chapter of the Ohio Planning Association (MVOPA), the Ohio Planning Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association. Alan has also been an adjunct Professor of Real Estate Law at the University of Dayton Law School
