Todd Severt

Todd Severt has represented me in several legal issues. He has done a wonderful job. He has always been attentive to my concerns, and has always answered or returned my calls in a very timely manner. I will definitely use his expertise again if the need arises.

Wonderful attorney!!

I have hired Todd twice. Both times, he did an amazing job! My divorce was the first time. My ex was an abusive addict and he was able to help me gain custody and be able to care for my kids. The second time was to gain custody of 2 teenagers who came from a pretty rough background. To the person ...who said he never goes to trial- he went to trial for us! And he was amazing!! He is by far the BEST family law attorney in Miami County!

Do not hire him

Todd talks a big game and really knows how to hype you up. I genuinely believed he was going to help me. I fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. While I can’t recall his exact hourly rate, it was extremely high—plus, you also pay for the other lawyers who assist him, paralegals, secretaries, black-and...-white copies, and even more for color copies. When you actually need help, it’s nearly impossible to get it. I make decent money, but after just one week with him, I nearly lost my entire month’s salary. He had me come into the office the day before my custody trial for a few hours of preparation, hyping me up the whole time. The next day at the trial, my side wasn’t heard. I was left alone in a room from 9 a.m. until late that evening. There was no change in circumstances to justify altering the order, yet he didn’t fight for me. Instead, he bullied me into giving in and agreeing to everything the other side wanted. When I pushed back, he threatened, “Then I’ll fire you.” Later, I found out from another attorney that Todd hadn’t actually been to a trial in years and always pressures his clients to settle.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
