Do not hire Carla Lauer for your Social Security Disability Claim. She concentrates on large/sure cases and gives little to no time toward smaller cases. Rarely returned phone calls, would not take appointments to discuss case, only met minutes before a hearing. She does not keep you informed of a...ny decision that has been made- and she does not inform you of the next step or your options. She is very impatient with those that do not understand the process, and concentrates on one or two aspects of your case during hearing instead of the whole picture of your disability claim. She does not want/allow you to call witnesses- "witnesses take time from the hearing". She will not address all your doctors' diagnosis', during hearing just the ones that have written letters vs. those that are only able to send records to her, keeping testing, exams, years treated, diagnosis' of some doctors out of the hearing notes, which are needed to help prove you have the condition/s, disability that you filed for- which in turn are not considered in appeals We would not consider her trustworthy, definitely NOT responsive, borderline knowledgeable, and DOES NOT keep you informed. Please call, evaluate, meet in person, and talk to other clients before choosing a lawyer. We were not even allowed an appointment to meet her before making a decision, and should have talked to a few more lawyers before hiring her.
