State v. Assault
Mar 07, 2018OUTCOME: Not Guilty
Not guilty. The State's victim testified that her neighbor, my client, hit her multiple times with his cane and caused a physical injury while she was sitting in her wheelchair. The State's witnesses t ... estified that my client hit her multiple times with his cane. I elicited testimony from the State's witnesses that the State's victim was dramatic and aggressive and that my client was elderly and could not hit someone hard enough to cause an injury and that the State's victim threw herself out of her wheelchair. My client testified that he lent the State's victim money that the State's victim never returned and in fact she was the aggressor and needed to defend himself. I argued to the jury that the State couldn't meet there burden of proof. Not guilty.
