Debra "Debbie" Nelson has always had a passion and commitment to serve others. Debbie began her career as a Registered Nurse (RN), working in a Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She then became a Certified Registered Nurse Anethetist (CRNA), providing anesthesia for surgery as well as Labor and Delivery at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since completing her law degree from the University of Cincinnati, Debbie has continued with her commitment to serve others by finding justice for victims of medical negligence, nursing home abuse, and personal injury, including motor vehicle crashes and falls.
Debbie has first-hand experience in the operating room, delivery rooms, and patient rooms, which gives her a unique insight into the life-altering experience of her clients. In her early law practice, Debbie has represented Doctors, Nurses and Hospitals. That experience was beneficial in representing victims of medical negligence through knowledge of the tactics of the Insurance companies that represent the defendant Doctors, Nurses, and Hospitals.
Debbie also completed training as a Stephen Minister, a lay person who provides compassionate listening and empathy to those experiencing a crisis in their lives, whether from grief, illness, or divorce. Debbie's skills as a Stephen Minister have been valuable assets in listening to and understanding the stories of her clients.
When Debbie is not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Debbie likes to unwind by spending time in the outdoors: running, bicycling or hiking.

"Debra is a very gifted advocate and an amazing human being. I had the opportunity and privilege of meeting Debra over a course which lasted a few weeks. During that time, I learned a lot about and from her. She is a very dedicated attorney who gives 100% for her clients. She is also very likable, which makes things difficult for opposing counsel. If you are looking for someone who would tell your story with passion, conviction, and who would not stop. I would recommend Debra without any reservations."
"Debra Nelson is a well respected medical malpractice lawyer and invaluable contributor to the AVVO community."
