James Henry Smith III

Jim is a corporate and tax lawyer and in such capacities has done a significant amount of merger and acquisition work in the public and private sectors. Participating in numerous business transactions, has supplemented his estate planning and estate administration practice where valuation of closely held businesses and other assets is a critical component. It has also assisted his real estate practice of representing developers and investors in a variety of transactions.

The exposure to both private and public transactions has provided Jim with a unique perspective in his practice. For over fifteen years, he has served as a Director of a public company and served on various committees including audit and compensation. Having an L.L.M. fromNew Yorkin Taxation has also enabled him to handle both the business and tax components of an engagement which is more efficient and cost effective for his clients.
