Heather Nicole Geis

Heather Geis has been practicing law since 2009, with a practice focused exclusively on criminal defense and OVI/DUI defense. A trial attorney, Heather regularly handles complex OVI litigation, including suppression motions, evidentiary challenges, and jury trials.

Heather earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Northern Kentucky University before attending the University of Dayton School of Law. She was selected for the University of Dayton School of Law’s accelerated two-year program, at the time the only two-year law program of its kind in the nation.

Since entering practice, Heather has dedicated her career to representing individuals facing criminal and impaired-driving charges. Her practice places a particular emphasis on OVI defense and the litigation of the constitutional, evidentiary, and scientific issues that frequently arise in these cases. She routinely litigates OVI suppression motions and takes cases to trial when appropriate, with a focus on challenging the State’s evidence and holding the prosecution to its burden of proof. Heather has completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration course on Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, a course typically taken by law enforcement for OVI/DUI detection. 

Heather is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky, as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
