CC was charged in 1 17-count indictment with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, witness intimidation, and assault and battery. The allegations we ... re that the offenses were committed over 5 dates and involved an ex-girlfriend. After a 3-day jury trial, CC was found guilty of only 1 count of assault and battery. CC was released from custody as he had been held awaiting trial. Attorney Caramanica used a forensic nurse expert and forensic cell phone expert to completely discredit the alleged victim in the successful defense of these charges.

Attorney Caramanica argued on behalf of all the defendants at the motion to suppress hearing. The motion to suppress was allowed, resulting in the dismissal of the charges against CC and the other defendants.

HS was charged with assault and battery on a family/household member, witness intimidation, unarmed robbery, and kidnapping. The prosecution moved to have HS held without bail as a danger. The not guilty verdict was also significant to HS because he was held on a parole detainer on a state court sentence because of the allegations.

OUTCOME: Plea to lesser charge - avoiding life without parole conviction.

WH was charged with first degree murder, witness intimidation, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition stemming from the 2015 murder of his close friend. Attorney Caram ... anica prepared the case fully for trial and litigated a number of motions to suppress, including statements made by WH. The motions to suppress were allowed in part – preventing some of the statements of WH from being used at trial. Negotiations between the prosecution and defense resulted in a plea to manslaughter, reduced from first degree murder, as well as to other charges. This enabled WH to avoid a life without parole sentence, and be eligible for parole on his sentences on the charges.
