OUTCOME: Case Dismissed!

I represented a nationwide travel plaza company in a civil action filed against it for false imprisonment. The plaintiff while shopping at the plaza was stopped and held by the Plaza's security guard ( ... an off duty Deputy Sheriff) for shoplifting. The local police showed up and took the plaintiff to jail. When the criminal charges were dismissed, plaintiff filed a lawsuit against the travel plaza. I was able to get the case dismissed against my client based on immunity which flows from the action of a law enforcement officer.
