Ralph Curtis Megargel

Ralph does not attend to your needs in a timely manner. He told me on several occasions that my case was unimportant in the grand scheme of things. He cited other cases he worked on that had "real" issues like children being abused. He procrastinates on filings, which put me in contempt on at leas...t one occasion. He refused to file several contempt charges against my husband despite the fact that opposing counsel twice filed on me for no reason whatsoever. Ralph tried to schmooze the other lawyers and the judge, but did not look out for my interests. I would spend hours in a room while he and the other lawyers and judge talked, only to come back and report that the judge wasn't going to go my way, so I should just agree to settle. I don't believe this was true - rather I think he just wanted to take the easy way out for himself. I wasted a year and a half and a lot of money to get no where. I ended up exactly where I started when I first hired him. He didn't give me an accounting of my bill the entire year and a half - but several times told me he was saving me money so that I would get most of it back. To this day, I haven't gotten an accounting. He called once to say that my charges were actually over what I had paid as a retainer and that he needed to look it over before he sent it out to me. That was months ago and I still haven't gotten anything. I've sent repeated emails with questions post divorce of which he has answered not one.
